I just fucked Skylar Quinn, my girlfriend, my little Beach Rat, my Night Sky. And I did it my way.

I was more pent up for this girl than I’ve ever been in my life. I needed to get it out of my system, so I fucked her hard. Slow enough to make her feel every inch that I slid into her, but hard enough to make her feel me inside her for days to come. I wanted her to be sore so she would feel me with every step she takes. I wanted her to feel the way I needed her.

Not how I saw our first time happening, but that’s what she wanted.

Truthfully, I took it a little easy on her. I bit my tongue a few times. Stopped myself from informing her of all the things I wanted to do to her tight little body. Stopped myself from using as much force as I was craving to. Sure, I fucked her relentlessly, but I did it gracefully. What I really wanted to do was monster fuck her through my mattress into my box spring. But she’s not ready for that much darkness—even though she asked for it.

“We had sex within five minutes of walking through your front door…” Skylar giggles, her head lying across my bare chest. Her long cinnamon-brown curls fanning over her shoulder and arm.

I tighten my hold around her shoulder and drag my fingertips up and down her arm. “That’s four minutes longer than I was hoping to wait.”

She giggles into my chest, making me feel the vibrations deep inside. I can tell she’s happy. And she’s calm. Much calmer than the bundle of nerves that walked through my door.

I didn’t mean to leave my gun out. Honestly, I rarely go anywhere without it. But I woke up past noon and I didn’t want to waste any more of the day without having Skylar in my arms. My nights belong to Ace, but my days belong to my girl. Aside from me not wanting to take a step without her, she deserves that.

“Have you ever killed anyone?”

The fuck?

Sky rests her chin on my chest, blinking those doe eyes at me. I laugh at her nonchalance while asking that question. Especially after what we just did. If she truly was curious, she didn’t ask before she slept with me. That means, to her, it doesn’t matter what I’ve done. Her feelings for me are stronger than her conscience. Or her morals.

“No.” I look down at my girl and move the hair from her face.

“Have you seen anyone being killed?”

Shit. She’s stuck on what I do for Ace. I don’t blame her; it’s too prominent in her mind. Then, like a dipshit, I left my gun on the table, reminding her she may as well be dating an escaped convict. She’s scared, she said. She had bad dreams, she said. She thinks my time on this planet, or at the very least, in this town, is limited.
